Receiving any type of diagnosis can be difficult if you don’t know how to cope with it or understand how it impacts your body. It is important to understand how a health condition, such as scoliosis, affects your day-to-day life.

Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine that typically occurs after puberty and develops gradually. It is possible for it to go undetected since it develops slowly and is sometimes unnoticeable. A chiropractic assessment is important for early detection. Symptoms of scoliosis include:

What is Sciatica?

Sciatica is pain caused by irritation of the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the longest and widest nerve in the human body and it runs from the lower back, down the legs and ends just below the knee. Sciatica is often associated with general back pain, but it is capable of affecting much more than just the back. According to Medical News Today, some experts say that up to 40% of people will experience sciatica at some point in their lifetime.

We are all familiar with the word ‘core’. When you refer to core strength, ab workouts, sit-ups and six-pack abs are often the first things that come to mind. But the truth is, abdominals are only a small part of the system of muscles that make up your core. A strong core is fundamental and much more important than the superficial associations that are all too common.

Not only does core facilitate movement, but it houses your inner organs and central nervous system. Whether you're hitting a tennis ball, lifting groceries or mopping the floor, the necessary motions either originate in your core, or move through it. To put it simply, your core muscles underpin almost everything you do.

So why exactly do Chiropractors reiterate the importance of a strong core? And, why do they try to incorporate exercises involving core in their Chiropractic care programs?
